Paul Vallone, the Democratic nominee for the 19th City Council District, received the endorsement of former longtime Democratic Congressmember Gary Ackerman at a press conference held on the steps of the Clearview Senior Center in Bayside on September 26.
“I know the people and the neighborhoods of Northeast Queens like the back of my hand, which is why I know Paul Vallone is the right choice to help preserve our precious quality of life and protect the middle-class families who live here,” said Ackerman. “Now more than ever, the people of the 19th city council district need a leader who can deliver the resources this district deserves. There is no doubt that Paul Vallone is the right man for the job.”
Vallone said, “It is an honor to have the endorsement of Congressman Ackerman – a model public servant who helped shape the special community we live in today. If elected to the city council, I will work day in and day out to address the quality of life issues to which Gary dedicated his career, including keeping our streets safe, improving our schools and looking out for the most vulnerable among us.”
The announcement came on the heels of a week of several important endorsements for Vallone, including those from former Democratic city council candidate John Duane and Councilmember Peter Koo.
