The revived Santa Claus Parade held Sunday in Bayside has been deemed a hit with an estimated 1,000 marchers and spectators participating in the event.
It’s been 10 years since the parade was dropped because there was no one to organize it. Councilman Paul Vallone took over the duties this year, along with the Bayside Village BID.
The march along Bell Boulevard started at 36th Avenue and ended at 41st Avenue, near the Long Island Railroad station, where the Christmas tree and menorah were lit.
Some of the groups taking part in the parade and/or entertaining the crowd later included the NYPD Marching Band, Queens Dance Project and the St. Andrew Avellino School Chorus.
