Councilman Paul Vallone announced last week that PS 31 in Bayside will get a major auditorium renovation.
The lawmaker, who previously allocated $100,000 for the project, will provide the remaining $145,000 needed to complete the renovation, which includes new flooring and chairs.
“The kids at P.S. 31 are great and are very involved, so it’s exciting to be able to share such good news. Their faces lit up with joy as we announced that they would be getting a brand new auditorium,” Vallone said in a prepared statement.
“The auditorium is where parents come to watch their students perform,” PS 31 Principal Terry Graybow said. “It’s where our entire student body comes together, where we do our graduations and right now there are so many broken seats.”
