On the evening of May 20, Councilman Paul Vallone was proud to join the family of Detective Wenjian Liu, the 109th Precinct and the New York City Police Department and the community to honor Detectives Liu, Rafael Ramos and Brian Moore. The Councilman stood in solidarity with those gathered at North Queens Church Memorial Park in Flushing, which would serve as a site to remember these slain NYPD officers and all first responders who have lost their lives on September 11, 2001.
Vallone said, “Tonight the community came together to celebrate the lives of Detectives Wenjian Liu, Rafael Ramos and Brian Moore. These officers made the ultimate sacrifice for our city, and we will always be forever grateful to their families for sharing them with us. Thank you to the 109th Precinct, 109th Precinct Community Council and Queens North for hosting this beautiful ceremony and to all of the men and women in blue for all the hard work they do every single day.”
