Paul Vallone has officially begun his campaign for the City Council’s 19th District.
“The communities of Bayside, Whitestone, College Point, Bay Terrace, Auburndale, Douglaston, Little Neck and North Flushing are special places to live, work and raise a family. It is for that reason we must have leadership in the city council that will fight to preserve our excellent quality of life,” Vallone said. “As the father of three children, I know that the future of Northeast Queens hinges on the strength of our school system and the safety of our neighborhoods. As a small business owner and a homeowner, I understand the need to strike a balance between fostering economic growth while at the same time preserving the integrity of our community.”
In the presence of more than 200 supporters at Verdi’s in Whitestone on January 8, the event generated an impressive $25,000 in contributions from friends, family and community leaders throughout Northeast Queens.
Vallone is expected to announce an initial fundraising haul of $35,000 for the upcoming campaign finance filing.
Vallone is the son of former City Coun- cil Speaker Peter F. Vallone Sr. and the brother of Counncilmember Peter F. Vallone Jr., who last month announced his intention to succeed Helen Marshall as the next Queens borough president.
Vallone is the managing partner of the family law firm of Vallone & Vallone LLC. His office has been serving Queens for 80 years. He is also the past president of the Bayside-Whitestone Lions Club, as well as the Clinton Democratic Club of Northeast Queens. He is a board member of Community Board 7, St. Andrew Avellino Finance Committee, St. John’s Preparatory School and the Astoria Civic Association. Vallone serves as counsel to the Auburndale Soccer Club and the Whitestone Volunteer Ambulance Association. He resides in North Flushing with his wife Anna-Marie and their three children, Catena, Lea and Charlie.
